A Pinch of Grinch- Free Unit

Hello Everyone!
I've been busy getting my Grinch on!  Creating, organizing, and updating all my Grinch stuff has been a JOY!!  I'm sharing what I have so far in case you want a peek. If you are a parent or a student of mine, please log off right now! :) I want these activities to be a surprise for my kiddos!!  Thanks!! If you are a teacher, or home schooler, take a peek at the samples of what is already a 33 page unit.******** It includes some author's message, character analysis, adjective study, a math tub game, a mystery picture, science, songs, poetry activities and more!!  There will be more to come, but I've got to get my turkey on, too!! :) *********** Please see the message at the bottom of this post!!!

What is Dr. Seuss' message?

    2. It doesn't matter whether it's free or for sale! I promise that the Grinch image is a trademark and can only be used by Seuss Enterprises. But it's up to you! Good Luck!

  15. I am excited to get your Unit. We are doing a Quarterly Behavior Party with the Grinch theme and I am working on finding some activities for that day. For some reason I am having a hard time finding the unit. Each time I click on your link it takes me to another page that gives me the meaning of Christmas. What am I doing wrong??? Thanks so much. I am a new follower of you.

  20. Did you know that the word "Grinch" is trademarked? Free or paid -this product violates trademark laws. Here is a blog post I did about this subject: http://effectiveteachingarticles.blogspot.com/2012/12/warning-copyrights-trademarks.html

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I once got my hand slapped by Seuss Enterprises with a cease and desist. I think it's important for teachers to know what we can and can't do when it comes to copyright and trademarks.

    1. Lisa, Thank you so much for bringing that to my attention. I strive to hold myself to the integrity that we as teachers should. I will take this unit off my blog until I get permission from Seuss Enterprises, if that is even possible. I read your post and you shed light on a subject that little bloggers like me needed to see! Thank you!!

  24. Hi Nancy,
I was unable to view your unit before you had to take it down. I would LOVE hear what you did with your kids- I am so sorry that you had to take it down (I would hope that we are all on the same page-helping kids learn to read and LOVE learning). You are truly amazing keep doing what you are doing-Thank you for all that you do- you know what is BEST for kids!!!
